Who we are

Phil O’Neill and Sarah Bury founded This is Electric in 2023 to tackle climate change.

We are a Tasmanian electrical company dedicated to supporting communities, businesses and homes transition to clean energy and get off gas and fossil fuels.

Phil is a licensed electrical contractor with over 15 years working in the electrical and automation industry. Phil is passionate about an accessible and equitable transition to clean energy, and decarbonising our transport sector.

Sarah is a lawyer with expertise in government policy, anti-discrimination law and human rights. Sarah’s passion is working with communities to protect our environment, thinking globally and acting locally.

Why we are different

We provide a range of electrical services, including charging solutions for electric vehicles (EVs), replacing gas appliances with efficient electric alternatives and energy efficiency advice. We also run clean energy education projects in schools, workplaces and communities.

We are dedicated to ensuring the transition to renewable energy is not only rapid, but fair and equitable, with benefits shared locally in our communities. We want everyone to be able able to participate in the clean energy transition.
