At This is Electric, our mission extends beyond just providing excellent, high-quality electrical services to our local community.

As a social enterprise, we are passionate about a rapid, fair and accessible transition to clean energy.

And we believe that our business can play a role in achieving this.

What is a social enterprise?

A social enterprise is a business that exists to create a fairer and more sustainable world.

We prioritise social, environmental, and community benefits alongside financial returns.

Unlike traditional for-profit businesses, we reinvest our profits back into our core social and environmental mission.

We are committed to driving a sustainable and fair transition to clean energy.

Our vision is for every home, business and community to be powered by safe, clean and affordable energy.

Using funds generated from our electrical work so far, we have started working with students on our first clean energy education project.

The students are learning how to measure the school’s transport emissions, and then take action to reduce them.

We’re part of the Shift Lab’s social enterprise incubator!

In exciting news, we we’ve been selected to be part of the Shift Lab’s social enterprise incubator, supported by the Tasmanian Government.

Over the next few months, we are working with a range of business mentors to develop the impact model for our community and the planet.

We are also working towards formal certification as a social enterprise through Social Traders and People and Planet First.
